Safety procedures

Our experienced guides have the competence and training to ensure your safety and security during activities. Always listen to their instructions and follow their advice.

Before the activity begins, a thorough review of safety procedures will be conducted. This includes important information about equipment usage, handling of any risks, and clear guidelines for safe participation.

All participants should stay within reach in such a way that they can perceive instructions and/or signals from the guide.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your guide.

Equipment

The guides are equipped with a guide pack containing necessary safety equipment and first aid supplies for your safety. Equipment required to complete the activity will either be available for rent or included in the price.

Coastal landscape

Coastal areas may include varied terrain, from majestic mountains to shifting tidal areas. Be aware that the terrain may be uneven and challenging to navigate, especially in tidal areas where the tide may expose hidden dangers such as rocks and reefs. Stay on marked trails and avoid exploring unfamiliar terrain without guidance.

Weather conditions

Weather conditions along the coast can be variable, and it is important to be aware of weather variations that may occur. Before embarking on activities, check the weather forecast for the area and be prepared for possible changes in weather conditions. Be aware of weather forecasts before embarking on activities and always follow the guide's recommendations and instructions to ensure a safe experience.

Clothing and footwear

Choosing the right clothing and footwear is crucial for your comfort and safety along the way. It is also important to check the weather forecast before heading out, so you can adapt your clothing and shoes to the conditions you expect to encounter.

It is recommended to dress according to the layering principle, with lightweight and breathable garments that can be adjusted according to weather conditions. Windproof and waterproof outer layers are essential to protect you from the elements, and it is wise to bring extra changes of clothes in case you get wet or need to change along the way. For water activities, remember to bring swimwear and a towel.

When it comes to footwear, choose shoes or boots that provide good grip and support, especially if you will be moving over rugged terrain or wet surfaces.

Hydration & Energy

Always bring something to drink.

During physical activity, it is beneficial to bring a small snack for energy replenishment.

For activities lasting more than 3-4 hours, we recommend bringing a packed lunch.

The Mountain Code

The untamed mountains in Norway are beautiful, yet unpredictable. These nine simple rules of the Norwegian mountain code will help you stay safe. We also recommended that you hire a local guide – especially in the winter season.
