Sauna Rules

Sauna and Bathing

All bathing and sauna use are at your own risk. Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Never bathe alone.

Persons bathing should be able to swim. Children and non-swimmers should be supervised and can bathe with safe guidance.

Hot Stove

Maintain a safe distance from the stove; it gets very hot.

Never place anything on top of the stove, even if it is cold/off.

Only freshwater should be used on the stove. Refill the tray with water when you have finished using the sauna; freshwater is available in the boathouse.

Slippery Surfaces

Water, ice, and snow can make the surface on the quay and in the swimming ladder slippery. Move carefully.

Alcohol

We do not recommend alcohol in combination with sauna or swimming.

Alcohol consumption inside and outside the sauna is not permitted for Drop In bookings.

For private bookings, up to 2 units per person may be allowed. Avoid drinks that may stain the wood.

Persons who are clearly intoxicated may be refused entry.

Food and Snacks

Food and snacks should not be brought into the sauna room for hygienic reasons.

Listen to your Body

If you feel dizzy or unwell in the sauna, go outside for fresh air.

Health and Physical Condition

Sauna and bathing in cold water are associated with several health benefits, but it is important to note that individual reactions may vary.

  • Use of the sauna may worsen symptoms of colds, fever, and migraines.

  • If you have atopic eczema, the heat may be irritating to the eczema.

  • If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid gland, kidney disease, or any other chronic illness, you should consult with a doctor before using the sauna.

  • Ice bathing can be dangerous if you have heart or circulatory problems.

Weatherconditions

We cannot guarantee the weather or views. In case of bad weather, guests must exercise special caution and consider if swimming is safe.

The sauna will be closed during extreme weather conditions.
